- Haratin (también transliterado haratins, harratines o haratine, etc., en singular hartani) son los habitantes de los oasis del Sahara, y que habitan fundamentalmente en el sur de Argelia, Marruecos, Mauritania y Sahara Occidental. Constituyen un grupo social y étnicamente distinto de aquellos otros pobladores locales mayoritariamente sedentarios, no-nómadas, de piel más oscura y que hablan bien bereber o árabe. Algunos investigadores describen a este grupo como una casta social que se extiende por los países mencionados, y que estaría formada por descendientes de las tribus bereberes del sur. (es)
